About the Program

A large media organisation wanted to develop an accelerated strategic approach to reduce operational and organisational inefficiencies in order to free up resources to focus on important and high value initiatives. The outcome was to recommend a shortlist of high value ideas with material capacity savings to the management board and develop a pathway for an efficiency roadmap to continue its journey for continuous improvement.

Decentralised Functions & Duplication of Work Increased Operational Costs

Fragmented operations with duplicate activities took place across multiple business units, resulted in inconsistencies with the same activities and increased overall costs of operations.

Rigid and Bureaucratic Structures Impeded Innovation and Crippled the Response To Change

Multiple layers of management and reporting caused unnecessary effort. As a result, significant decrease in productivity and other employee implications occurred.

Centralising IT procurement will leverage existing vendor management and ensure the right personnel are utilised to facilitate business needs including negotiating the best solutions and outcomes. Significant reduction in overheads can be achieved from automated solutions to replace manual intensive tasks. A review of effective collaboration tools that meet the organisation’s needs will result in higher productivity and collaboration.
